Kemphos-825 (Two Pack System) (Tube Drawing Chemical)
Product Description Kemphos-825 is a warm self accelerated process, which produces an
extremely fine crystalline heavy zinc phosphating coating on iron and
steel to facilitate cold forming of the specially meant to smooth wire drawing and tube drawing. The coating obtained is adherent and
has an excellent wear resistance and lubricant absorption.

Product Operating Procedure Kemphos-825 is supplied in two pack system I. e. for initial make up,
Kemphos-825 'A' and for replenishment Kemphos-825 'R'. For each 1000
ltrs of bath add 5 9 ltrs of Kemphos-825 'A' along with 1.3 ltrs
of Kemphos 825 'R'
During the processing sludge is formed as a natural by product and
the accumulated at the bottom of the tank. The accumulated sludge
should be removed from the tank at regular interval 1 of time.
Through rinsing is very much important after pickling in mineral
acids in order to remove the acid or residues from the surfaces of
the work any carry over of the acid residues to the phosphating tank
will lead to excessive sludge formation, detonation of phosphates
coating and high chemical consumption. Proper control of temperature,
pointage and time minimise the chemical consumption. Thin and patchy
coating may result from a low bath temperature or insufficient
treating time.

Product Application Equipments Kemphos-825 tank should be
fabricated with 3 to 4 mm thick M.S. Plates with continuous
convection current hating system.
Testing and Control Procedure
Total
Acidity Pipette out 10 ml. Bath solution add
few drop of Phenolphthalein in indicator titrate it with N/10 NaOH to
reach end point with pink colour.
Free
Acidity Pipette out 10 ml bath and add few
drops of Bromocresol green indicator titrate it with N/10 NaOH to
reach end point with blue colour.

coating the acid ratio of Kemphos-825 should be kept in between 6

Chemical Replenishment The replenishment of Kemphos-825 bath is carried out by adding
Kemphos-825 'R' approximately 1.3 ltrs per 1000 ltrs of bath for each
point less.
Safety Measures Kemphos-825 is a highly acidic
material and with powerful oxidizing agents direct contact cause
burns of eyes, skin use adequate ventilating. Avoid breathing vapour
or mist, do not take internally.
