Kemklin-105 (Heavy Duty Rust & Scale Remover) (Extremely Heavy Duty Rust & Scale Remover Hot Process)
Product Description Kemklin-105 (HD) is a phosphoric acid based chemical, which is
specially formulated to remove heavy rust and scales effectively by
hot dipping process. Kemklin-105(HD) is an inhibited acidic compound,
which is suitable for removing the rust from ferrous as well as for
non-ferrous metal surfaces.

Product Operating Procedure
Kemklin-105(HD)
is simply diluted in 1:3 parts with water. Prior to immersion in
Kemklin-105(HD) bath excess oil, grease and loose rust should be
removed manually or by alkaline degreasing or Trichlor ethylene
degreasing. The dipping time period required for cleaning depends
upon the amount of contamination, concentration, temperature and
ferrous iron contents built up in the bath.
After
the immersion in Kemklin-105(HD) bath, the work should be rinsed
thoroughly in clean water and subjected to phosphating process.
If
subsequent painting is required after Kemklin-105(HD) application
should be thoroughly cleaned with plain water and further dipped in
hot Kemlyte-333 solution for few seconds.
Dipping
in Kemlyte-333 solution minimizes staining during drying and slightly improves
corrosion resistance. Kemlyte-333 dipping slightly acidifies the
surface before drying, which serves as good base for paints.
Kemklin-105(HD)
bath can be maintained by simple titration and does not require any
skill labour or chemical knowledge. Bath should be maintained at
operating level with recommended concentration. Freshly prepared bath
acts rapidly but the action gradually decreases due to the
accumulation of ferrous iron concentration in the bath. Increase in
the temperature at this stage accelerates the derusting action, but
the temperature should be controlled and not exceed to 70degree C.
Product Application Equipment Kemklin-105
tanks should be lead lined, rubber lined, glass fibre, rigid
polythene, stainless steel tanks made out of 18 gauge sheets
preferred. Steam coil or electric heaters should be of lead or 316
S.S.
Testing and Control Procedure Pipette
out 10 ml. of bath solution and dilute it to 100 ml. distilled
water. Pipette out 10 ml diluted solution into the conical flask and
add 100 ml of distilled water with 10 -12 drops of indicator Bromocersol green indicator.
Chemical Replenishment The bath should be discarded when the concentrated solution and
increase in the temperature do not show faster derusting action and
powdering deposits appear on the surface.
Safety Measures Kemklin-105 is an acidic liquid
material, and while handling, proper care should be taken. Protect
eyes and skin by means of goggles, aprons, gloves etc. If it comes in
contact with skin and eyes, wash thoroughly with a flush of water and
get medical advice.
General Information Heavy Rust Removal: Excellent Paint Adhesion: Good Gloss Retention: Good.
