Product Description
Kemclean-501(s) is an alkaline degreasing chemical used for the
removal of light oil and grease, from ferrous surfaces by spray or
jetting process. It is recommended specially to remove the excess oil
and grease initially by solvent wiping or by high pressure cold water
spray to increase the bath life of Kemclean-501(S). It is
suitable for degreasing CRCA, galvanized and ternne coated sheets
effectively.

Product Operating Procedure
Fill the Kemclean-501(s) tank with in the 2/3 of water and heat it
upto 45°c, and then add required amount of Kemclean-501(c) with continuous
stirring at the time of addition. Fill the tank bath to the operating
level and increase the temperature 45-50°c. Stir the bath solution
well to determine the pointage whether it is up to the recommended
concentration or not the adjust the bath accordingly. Thorough
rinsing is required after in Kemclean-501(s) preferably in two stages
for the complete removal of Kemclean-501(C) solution from the surface
of the works.
Generally in the spray process, degreasing is used in two stages i.e.
Knock off degrease

Degrease
In this case, knock off degreasing gets contaminated very fast as
compared to degrease bath. Ultimately (KOD) bath should be discarded
once in a week and degrease bath should be transferred into (KOD)
tank bath, degreasing bath should be prepared fresh in order to save
the chemical consumption.
Product Application Equipment
Kemclean-501(S) tank should be fabricated with 3-4 mm thick M.S.
Plates with continuous convection current heating from the heating
source and continuous agitation system.
Testing and Control Procedure
- Pipette out 10 ml. of the bath solution into a conical flask.
- Add 90 ml of water to make it 100ml

Titrate it with N/10 Hcl or N/10 H2SO4 by using Methyl orange
indicator till colour changes from yellow to red.

Chemical Replenishment
The pointage of the degreasing bath is to be maintained at the
recommended level. The efficiency of the degreasing bath falls due to
the oil coming out after work, which is emulsified in the running
solution and settles as sludge at the bottom. At this stage
Kemclean-501(S) should be discarded.
Safety Measures
Kemclean-501(s) contact with eyes, and clothing should be avoided and
proper safety precautions are to be taken by operators, by using gloves,
goggles and safety clothing's. In case of accident the effected parts
should be continuously flushed with plenty of water and immediately
consult a physician.
