Kemclean-k-10 is specially formulated for the removal of oil,
grease, dirt and other foreign contaminents from the surface of the
ferrous metals. This product is generally used to remove not only
mineral oils and grease but also Lanoline, Palm oil etc. by hot dip
application.

Product Operating Procedure
Fill the Kemclean-K-10 tank with 2/3 of water and heat it upto
45°C. Add 5 kgs. Of Kemclean-K-10 powder in 100 ltr. bath
with continuous agitation till the chemical is completely dissolved.
Fill the tank to the operating level and raise the temperature. Stir
the bath and draw the bath sample for determining of pointage.
Strength of Kemclean-K-10 bath can be increased if the components are
heavily contaminated with heavy oil or grease. It is therefore
advisable that heavily contaminated components should be pre-dipped
in soak cleaner or emulsion cleaner, which may help to remove the oil
grease from the surface of the components with in very short period of time,
ultimately pre-dip cleaning will also help to increase the life of
the degreasing bath. Maintenance of the temperature is also a very
important factor. If the temperature of the bath is low, the
efficiency of the degreasing chemical will be effected even if the
concentration and the treatment time are increased. The components
should be thoroughly rinsed with over flowing system until unless
kemclean-K-10 is completely removed.
Product Application Equipment
Kemclean-K-10 tank should be fabricated with 3 to 4 mm-thick M.S.
Plates with continuous agitation arrangement by convection from a
heating unit. Agitation should be provided.
Testing and Control Procedure
Pipette out 10 ml. Bath solution in a conical flask. Add 90 ml. Of
distilled water and add 2-3 drops indicator methyl orange. Titrate it
against N/10 sulphuric acid till the colour changes from yellow to
red. The burette reading is the pointage of the bath solution. The
pointage of the degreasing bath should always be maintained at the
recommended level.
Chemical Replenishment
The efficiency of the degreasing bath falls due to carry over of oils
coming from jobs which gets emulsified in the bath solution and the
presence of the sludge at the bottom. At this kemclean-K-10 bath
should be discarded. During the use of bath pointage is reduced it
should be replenished by adding chemical to restore specified bath
pointage.
Safety Measures
Kemclean-K-10 contact with skin, eyes, mouth and clothing should be
avoided and proper safety precautions are to be taken by the
operators using gloves, goggles, and safety clothing's. In case of
accident, the affected portions are to be continuously flushed with
water and get medical treatment.
