Product Description
Kemchrome-340 is specially formulated for the treatment of Aluminium
and its alloys by immersion method. Kemchrome-340 gives a thin,
smooth amorphous oxy-chromate coating, which is normally rainbow in
nature of golden brown in colour. This coating is an excellent base
for paint. This is also coated to avoid white rust on aluminium.

Product Operating Procedure
Degreasing
Prior to Kemchrome-340 dip job to be properly degreased either by
chlorinated vapour degreasing method or by caustic free degreasing
solution.
Rinsing
Rinsing should follow degreasing,
job should be properly washed with running water by dip or spray
method.
Chromatising
After water rinse the job should be
dipped in 3-5% of Kemchrome-340 solution for desired coating.
Water
Rinsing
Job should be rinsed properly.
Drying
After water rinsing, job should be
properly dried by hot air blowing.

Product Application Equipments
S. S. tank of 3-4 mm thickness.
Testing and Control Procedure:
Free Acidity
Pipette out 5 ml of bath solution in a conical flask, add 4-6 drops
of Bromocresol green indicator. Titrate it against N/10 NaOH
solution. The consumption of N/10 NaOH in burette will give the free
acidity of the solution.
Total Acidity
Pipette out 10 ml. of bath solution in a conical flask. Add 50 ml of
D.M. Water and 10 ml of phosphoric/sulphuric acid mixture. Add 1- 2
gms. of Potassium Iodide powder. Mix it thoroughly, add 15-20 drops
of starch solution indicator. Titrate it against N/10 Sodium
Thiosulphate. Colour of the solution will change from black to green.
The consumption of N/10 thiosulphate I burette will give the total
acidity of the solution.
Chemical Replenishment
Add 2.6 Ltr. Of Kemchrome-340 for every 100 ltr. Of water to raise
the acidity pointage by 1. based upon organic compounds.
Safety Measures
Kemchrome-340 is based upon organic compound so while handling proper
care should be taken. Protect eyes and skin by means of goggles, gloves
etc. If it comes in contact with skin and eyes wash thoroughly with
flush of water and get medical advice.
