(Rust Remover)
Product Description
Kemklin-102 is specially formulated to remove rust and scales from
ferrous and non-ferrous metals effectively by hot dipping process.
Kemklin-102 is purely based on phosphoric acid enriched with various
types of solvents/surfactants/Inhibitors and wetting agents etc. This
product also minimizes paint blistering removes the oxide film
rapidly and serves as a good base for paint adhesion. Carry over into
phosphate bath will not only interfere with kemklin-102 chemical. It
involves no expensive equipments for operations.

Product Operating Procedure
Fill the tank with ½ of water and add KEMKLIN-102 at
concentration 25% v/v, mix it thoroughly and fill the water to the
operating level. The immersion time required for cleaning depends
upon the amount of contamination, concentration and temperature. Bath
should be maintained at the recommended pointage and temperature.
Product Application Equipments
Kemklin-102 tank should be lead lined, rubber lined, glass fibre,
rigid polythene, stainless steel tanks made out of 18 guage sheets
preferred. Steam coil or heaters should be lead or 316 SS.
Testing and Control Procedure
- Pipette out 10 ml. of the bath solution and add 90 ml. of water to it
- Pipette out 10 ml. of diluted solution in a conical flask and add 2-4
drops of methyl orange indicator
- Titrate it with N/10 Sodium Hydroxide solution
- The colour changes from red to yellow
- Freshly prepared 25% concentration kemklin-102 solution give the
reading of 20-25 ml.
Iron Concentration
Pipette out 10 ml. of bath solution, and add 10 ml of 50% concentrated
sulphuric (H2SO4) acid. Mix it thoroughly, titrate this
against N/10 potassium permanganate (KmnO4) solution till the pink
colour persists for 15 seconds. % of iron is to be calclated as
Burette reading X 0.056. Maximum permissible limit of Iron in
Kemklin-102 bath is 7%
Chemical Replenishment
The bath should be discarded when addition of concentrated solution
and increase in the temperature does not show faster derusting action
and powdery deposits appear on the surface of the metal.
Safety Measures
Kemklin-102 is an acidic liquid material, and while handling proper
care should be taken. Protect your eyes, skin by means of goggles, aprons,
gloves etc. If it comes in contact with skin and eyes, wash thoroughly
with a flush of water and get medical advice.
